In Yellowstone National Park, Wolves are more successful killing elk than bison. However, in late winter when bison were vulnerable because of poor condition or of bison that were injured or young, wolves learned to kill bison.
In this sculpture, considering the wolf being trampled, and the one being gored, it would appear that the outcome is far from certain.

Occasionally I’ll have a void on my easel and nothing in my head, (The empty head happens a lot lately) so if I have some empty canvas/board around the studio, I’ll start painting.
This one turned out to be “Horse”. Not any particular horse. Just “Horse”.

Many years ago, when I was young, (That was just shortly before they invented Dirt.) I lived in the back country, and spent a good deal of my time in the woods with a camera. On one of my forays, I ran across a litter of raccoons waiting for mama to return home to feed them. Apparently she had been delayed for quite some time, and the young coons were not happy about it. As a matter of fact that is how I found them in the first place because they were raising quite a commotion, and I heard them before I saw them.Description:This is an acrylic painting on a 16X20 gallery wrapped canvas. “Owl Eyes”

“Buttin’ Heads” The Ritual
$550.00Bison breed in the summer. Male bison compete for mating rights, butting heads with other bulls. In these competitions, male bison may also lower their heads, paw at the ground, and emit a bellow which can be heard up to three miles away. This sculpture is called “Buttin’ Heads”, and was completed in late September of 2024.
The overall size is 23 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high. It was designed to set on a shelf in your living room or studio, or better yet, on the mantle of your fireplace. It was sculpted using a two-part epoxy, and is coated with three colors of metallic wax. The sculpture is an original work by Robert M Walker, and is one of a kind. Your Friends will be amazed!!!
“Final Approach”

This is a pair of Sandhill Cranes coming in on the “Final Approach” for a landing. This original pencil drawing is 15X15 inches and is drawn on archival paper. The size of the framed piece is 22X24 inches The pencil drawing has been double matted in grays, and backed with Foam-core. It is framed in black metal, and covered in non-glare glass.

The bighorn sheep is a species of sheep native to North America. It is named for its large horns. A pair of horns might weigh up to 30 pounds, and the sheep typically weigh up to 315 lbs. The sheep originally crossed into North America over the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia. The population in North America peaks in the millions, and the bighorn sheep entered into the mythology of Native Americans.
The Sheep Eaters (named after their staple diet), or “Tukudeka”, lived high in mountain fastnesses favored also by the bighorn sheep they ate. They were a branch of the Shoshone. Both Indians and sheep found a precarious niche in rugged mountain country at higher altitudes.
